Hi All I come to New Zealand every year and to save me bringing my satnav with me i have purchased the Sygic app for my Iphone 6S specifically to download NZMCA's POI files into the app. I have downloaded these files fairly easily onto my TomTom but I am stumped by the conversion of those files to.upi/.rupi format. I have read the Sygic instructions on how to convert them over and over but can't make head or tail of it. Can any kind person explain the procedure to me in fairly simple terms.
Thanks in advance PS I need to do this on a Mac computer Peter. Download.csv POI files from the NZMCA website. Download the RUPI converter from Extensions.rupi,.upi and.bmp must be lowercase The name of the icon (.bmp file) and of the POI (.upi/.rupi files) must be the same e.g Dumpstation.upi, Dumpstation.bmp The name of the POI (.upi/.rupi) will be displayed as the name of the POI category in Sygic navigation. So Dumpstation.upi will appear in Sygic navigation in the Dumpstation category. The icon (.bmp file) should be in square format e.g. If the icon is too big or too small, it will be adjusted automatically by the app.
The icon should be either 8 bit or 32 bit bmp format. To import.csv files The delimiter specified in the first line of the TXT file should be ','. To specify the delimiter: Open.csv in Excel Insert new row and write “delimiter=,” Save as “CSV (comma delimited)” Launch the converter on your PC. Click Browse Files to browse the directories. Converter will automatically search the directory in which is placed.
Select.csv files that you want to convert. Run the conversion utility to convert the files to RUPI format. Sygic GPS navigation is able to process.upi and.rupi format, so there is no need to convert.upi to.rupi format. Pete, forgive me, but in my opinion the entire exercise is simply not worth the trouble. All that work to end up with an inferior product! Downloading the new NZMCA Travel App to your iPhone will give you far more site information very simply and easily. Take a look at this first and see if you still want to proceed with your Sygic quest.
PS: I have just seen your added PS. I have no knowledge of Macs so most of the above will be of little help to you. quote Pete, forgive me, but in my opinion the entire exercise is simply not worth the trouble. I just downloaded the sygic app and paid for it before I found out it was nearly impossible for the average man in the street to convert the POIs to.rupi format. I downloaded the NZMCA travel app a couple of days ago its good. Thanks again.
Regards Peter. Peter, we also use the Sygic navigation app on our android and IOS smart devices. In our bus we use it on a 10' Apple iPad Air as our main GPS and it is mounted where a typical rear view mirror would be. (We no longer have a rear window, so have re-purposed the mount for the iPad which just clicks into place and has permanent power.
Using a GPS app in a smart device is incredibly useful with a larger screen, POI import, internet access and in my view, great overall integration. Detective conan anime episodes sub indonesia. At the time, Sygic cost me NZ$29.00 with lifetime offline map updates for both NZ and Australia. (Utilising TomTom actually) To date I hadn't myself imported the NZMCA GPS POIs myself and now that a number of them are actually labelled, I decided I would. Icons: First I had to create some meaningful icons. I didn't want to use graphics, but did want to use colour and text and created them to the specification that Sygic states. (100x100 pixels @8bit saved as BMP) I chose to create POI icons using the colours and acronyms from the NZMCA travel directory, with the results as follows. The icons appear to look fine on the map, so, the plain approach was probably a good fit.
Conversion: I then downloaded the latest NZMCA garmin CSV GPS files (February 2016) and converted them to rupi that Sygic understands using the method that Sygic details in their support forum. Download: Edited: while forum admin appraise this bit Import into Sygic: To import POIs on iPhone or iPad (iOS) use the following instruction with the graphic indicating the step numbers 1. Launch iTunes on your PC (or Mac) and connect your iPhone/iPad 2. Click on your iPhone/iPad and go to the Apps tab. Choose Sygic in 'File Sharing'.
Click 'add' to add the.rupi (GPS) and bmp (Icons) files from your temporary folder where you previously extracted them. Or, drag and drop the.rupi and.bmp files directly into the Sygic Documents list which is a much easier option. But, do NOT drag and drop folders. Sync your iPhone / iPad with iTunes. If Sygic is running on your iPhone/iPad, close it.

Launch Sygic on your iPhone/iPad. A dialog for import of custom POI will open and you click 'OK' Result I want to see NZMCA POI's for Taupo, so I enter Taupo, then click 'Nearby' Then I scroll to the bottom and select 'Favourite POI' I then get all NZMCA POI ranked in order of closest to me based on the previous city I chose. I then choose the Riverside Park PDS, because well, I need to use a dump station Then I get the relevant info on the offline map. I can also get an image from Google Maps if I have internet connectivity I can also get screet view (all without leaving Sygic, these are the integration bits I like) Maybe I want to see it on the map in context with the surrounding area. (Note: I choose to only display POI's for supermakets, gas stations and Info centres and NZMCA POI's, hence the distinct lacking of POI's in view. I choose to navigate and because I am currently in Lower Hutt I get two choices with the obvious one selected. Click start and I am off!

Conversely, I could have searched for the TD listing number, or name, if you happen to know it, but you probably will not. You're more likely to start with a point of origin and want to see certain POI near that point. Anyway, I hope this is of use to you and any other Sygic GPS users. We also use the NZMCA Travel app, and while the content itself is good, there are some things about it that don't suit us, such as 1. Reliance on the internet entirely for the app to be of use. No offline maps (and therefore potentially no offline data at all) 3.
When selecting the address link, there is no choice other than google maps (i.e. Your own sat nav app would be good?) 4. The ability to create content (comments, etc) offline and then have it sync upon re-establishment of the internet would be great. Internet connectivity isn't assured and often most definitely not available in many places, so unless you are within internet connectivity range, you have to use it before you leave range, or refer to the paperback TD. I note that Campermate that it is 'based' on (or from) does allow the use of offline maps.
Additionally, Wikicamps allows the use of offline maps and also offline data (POI's, comments, photos, etc) as well as the ability to sync data (upload) it back, allowing for a 'fully offline' user experience. However, it is minus the NZMCA data. Keygen torrent cs5. The NZMCA Travel app is a great start, but hopefully it will adapt some of the fundamentally important features around being 'offline' and sat nav integration options for those that use sat nav within the same device.
